1st Inter-School Chinese Orchestra Festival

I participated the Chinese orchestra concert, "旋情迹忆, World of Tunes", which was held on 4th April 2010 at Main Hall. The only different was, my role was changed from performer to audience.

The conductor of this concert was still Mr. Steven Tan, my lovely erhu teacher and also the music director of COS Melaka campus. 17 songs were performed during the concert, includes ensemble, orchestra feat choir, choir, Yang Qin solo, string ensemble, percussion ensemble, Suana solo, Yang Qin trio, and group ensemble.

The most talented tenor, Yue Ren solo Xing Xing Suo, accompanied by choir group.

Mr. Chia Woon Tai performed “正月十五闹雪灯Fifteenth Light Snow Downtown" Suana solo. His performance was marvelous, i think he is a professional Suonalist.
My dear housemates, Lucas & YJ. Good job, Lucas!!

What a terrific performance!!

Mountain Climbing

It was an early Friday morning. We woke up at about 7.00am and went for mountain climbing at Bukit Beruang Mountain. As a MMU student, it was torturing to wake up at such an early morning.

This was not the first time for me to climb up this mountain. We spent around 15 minutes to reach the "checkpoint".

CH: "Eh, what is that huh?"

Solo "Hooray"

Group "Hooray"

Arrived at "final checkpoint", the TM satellite tower. The air was so refresh and the sunbath was so warm!

It was time to take some breakfast. Diam sum, yummy!!

Intervarsity Karate Tournament 2010

In 28/2/2010, MMU Karate Club have organised the 3rd Intervarsity Karate Tournament. Since this is my last trimester in MMU, this tournament would be my last karate tournament before my graduation.

I didn't went through as much training as last IKT, however i have performed better than last time.I have participated in Male Kumite below 75kg. This was a competitive category as compare to other cotegories. Around 20+ Karatekas participated in this category.
Luckily, i was able to survive until final round. My final opponent is Lesole, he was in our team last year, however he have been transfered to Cyberjaya campus during this trimester. Our first and rematch round was "ikiwake"(tie), unfortunately i lost to him with refree "hantei" (decision).

These are the result of my effort and spirit

Lastly, i wish to express my deepest gratitute to

Sensei Chua,

Sensei Lok, and

My friends from MMU Karate Club and Karamet

Tiger

This year is the year of tiger, so lets talk about something related to tiger.

I believe most of us have saw tigers in the zoo. However, during the time when there was no zoo in this country, when people see tiger, it's about life and death matters.

The man with a shotgun stood in the middle of this photo is my great-grandfather. He was a policeman before the Japanese occupation in Malaysia. This photo was taken after he had shot down a man-eating tiger in my hometown. This was the time when policeman still wore short pants^^

This is the canine teeth of the tiger. Can't imagine what will happen if this huge teeth bite into my body.

Besides canine teeth of tiger, there is also canine teeth of bear and leopard.

Thanks to my grandpa for the precious photo and tiger teeth that he showed me. I love u, grandpa!!

Lunch at Sakura House

This was the first time i have my lunch at Sakura House. Sometimes, we should not judge a person by his/her appearance, this theory really applied for Sakura House.

I was surprised that they are able to provide various type of Japanese cuisine.

This Japanese pancake is delicious. It taste better than those Japanese pancake i have consumed before.

My favourite, Unagi!!
